Accessibility
There are a range of accessible facilities on campus to suit your needs, including bathrooms, parking, and lifts.
The security team on campus works 24 hours a day to provide a safe environment.
For emergencies call 02 6201 2222. This phone line operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
UC also has several help points installed across campus and residential precincts. For assistance press the intercom and our security team will respond.
Counselling and cultural support
Counsellors on campus
Counsellors at the Medical and Counselling Centre have extensive expertise in working with students in relation to their mental wellbeing. Whether you need to talk to someone, address more complex matters in your personal life, or need support through significant emotional and mental challenges, the team of qualified counsellors are available to support you.
Elder in-residence
Pastoral care services support the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of students. At UC, these services are provided by an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elder at the Ngunnawal Centre.
Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elder in-residence, Aunty Ros, provides confidential care, support and a safe place to discuss your feelings.
Medical services
If you鈥檙e feeling unwell or need to see a doctor for any medical issues, you can make an appointment at our Medical and Counselling Centre. It鈥檚 open five days a week and offers care and advice on all general health needs. Our doctors and nurses can also provide the medical assessments, screenings and vaccinations needed to get you ready for any placements you鈥檒l have during your studies. Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health and Community Services (WNAHCS) is an Aboriginal community controlled primary health care service operated by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community of the ACT.
Student wellbeing
Our Student Wellbeing team provides individualised support and information to help you navigate your journey at UC in the best way possible.
The team of social workers and community and wellbeing support officers is experienced in providing individualised and meaningful support to help you work through any challenges you may be facing.
You can access confidential advice, referrals and support to help you overcome any challenges you may face while studying at UC.
The 麻豆村 has established an Ally Network which aims to provide a visible network of mentors and support for people that identify as LGBTIQ+ and their allies. In addition, the 麻豆村 of Canberra Rainbow Group provides a direct support for LGBTIQ+ students.
