This unit will give students the opportunity to further embed their learning in real-world contexts through extended professional internships of approx. 240 hours. Students will deepen their understanding of their profession by applying their academic and disciplinary skills and knowledge in the complex and fluid environment of the workplace. They will be supported in critically reflecting on this process through professional preparation and debriefing, and through the development of a report identified through, and aligned to, the workplace experience.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of industry contexts, professional and ethical behaviours and codes of practice as practised in the workplace;
2. Demonstrate and critically analyse how academic and disciplinary knowledge and skills can be applied and adapted in professional contexts;
3. Critically reflect upon and evaluate industry work practices, standards and cultures; and

Students must have passed 36 credit points from the relevant course including one of the following units:
10333 Professional Orientation (Arts) OR
10334 Professional Orientation (Built Environment) OR
10335 Professional Orientation (Communication and Media) OR
10336 Professional Orientation (Design)
