To become an effective business decision-maker, a thorough understanding of the research process is required. In this unit, students will learn and apply research theoretical concepts to business contexts. Students will also learn the basic principles of research design and will be introduced to a range of relevant quantitative and qualitative business research techniques, including the applications of various contemporary analytical tools. On the completion of this unit, students will have an understanding of the research methodology, develop research skills, formulate and present effective research reports to be efficient in understanding the future way of doing business. The knowledge and skills acquired will be highly applicable in both academic and business contexts.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Differentiate quantitative and qualitative research in business research;
2. Describe the research process and research ethics involved in the business research process;
3. Conduct a literature review;
4. Select key qualitative and quantitative techniques for a variety of research contexts; and
